Are you ever tempted to blurt out your opinion even though
it might not be needed?
Do you ever feel like you have to have the final word in an
argument?
Do you ever feel required to say something even though it
might be better to remain silent and offer a prayer instead?
I have. And that’s why I love these words…

Often, the need is
not for another opinion or another round of arguing, but for silence and
truth-knowing. The effect of a shut mouth and a silent prayer of Truth can be
far more influential than an open mouth and unwelcome words.

You will find the saying Chapter 3,p60 Watches, Prayers and Arguments given to students by Mary Baker Eddy.
"Give me grace to keep silent when speech is unnecessary."
That is definitely a time to say "amen" and learn to practice that profound silence. Great wisdom, Evan.
Christ Jesus taught the two greatest commandments and Mary Baker Eddy's statements that there is only one Mind, one Love that unifies men and nations...; and that divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need are hereto proven again. As I woke up, prayed and listened a good purpose for my having to go back to my homeland was pointed out. I was already rehearsing some teachings of Jesus and Mary Baker Eddy to settle disputes then I was led to first read what good news Evan has heard for us today. This is just perfect Evan! Silence and Truth knowing is enough. Thank you!
There Is another "Idiom" that I don't remember the exact words, but it goes something like this: "Let me speak, when speaking is called for. Let my mouth be shut when it's wrong to speak." I would appreciate any one who recognizes the Idiom to answer this blog.
